To utilize the finger print reader, you have to install the software on at least one computer to set up the password and set up your fingerprints. After that it's software free and can be used on any computer and verifies your fingerprint just using the drive itself.

USB 3.X got really confusing because of a rebranding effort when the standard was updated in 2019.

USB 3.1 Gen 1 became USB 3.2 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps)
USB 3.1 Gen 2 became USB 3.2 Gen 2 (SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps)
NEW USB 3.2 Gen 2x2	(SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps)

I believe to get the high rates you need the 10Gbps port/connection & rated cable as well

Yes...however, the Xbox One X cannot take full advantage of USB 3.2 power. In addition, I highly recommend AGAINST using this drive for the Xbox One X as it will likely corrupt your data (as it did mine within the first month). Not only that, but you will have constant issues of the drive disconnecting or not being recognized at all without having to be unplugged/plugged back in. If the system is not actively accessing the drive, it will go into sleep mode and will disconnect you from whatever you're doing the next time you reach a loading area if this happens. Trust me. Stay FAR FAR away from this drive if you're planning on playing games off it on the Xbox One X.
