Best knife ever

After yet another grocery-store knife broke while cutting, I decided to upgrade all my knives. Cooks Country seemed to rate Victorinox highly, review after review, so I decided on this brand. To expedite my replacement knives, I bought a couple of multi-pack Victorinox knives from Amazon. Included in one multi-pack was a single paring knife. One paring knife will never be enough, so I ordered these, thinking they'd match up with the one I had. They didn't. When these arrived, I was very surprised at how light weight they were (compared to the single Victorinox paring I had) and immediately fished the bubble wrap out of the trash, intent on returning these asap. Long story short, now I never use anything but these! These are just wonderful knives and I've since ordered another set because I use them for everything. They're remarkably sharp, firm and secure in my hand, and so easy to use on tough items like hard bricks of cheddar.

Back when I was ready to quit buying cheap knives, I did the research and found these Victorinox knives. I have a large set and some specialty pieces including a set of these knives. I have had them for years and a couple of strokes on the sharpener and they are good as new. I would put these knives up against any knife at any price. If you want nicer looking knives, get them with the cherry wood handles, but if you want to spend only on the blades, get these--economical, durable and fantastic--use them every day. Note--as with all knives, if you hand wash these, they will stay sharper as the blades won't be rubbing up metal against metal against other silverware in the dishwasher.

I purchased four of these - for myself & as gifts. They are good quailty knives. Not the very best, but very good & very affordable. I also value that the handles are not very thick or very large. My hands are very small, and many quality knives are difficult for me to handle because of the larger handles they have. These let me handle the knife with ease. The blades have a desirable level of flex that makes them well suited for their purpose. I can recommend them with no real hesitation. Those to whom I gave this set also value them highly in their kitchens.

These are excellent knives especially for the price. I grew up in a Restaurant Supply business and we sold lots of Victorinox knives to the bars and restaurants in the Central NY State area. We advised customers watching their budgets to chose them over the expensive German-made knives, and they held up very well and stayed sharp. I just replaced my Victoriox set that I have had for over 20 years! They still cut but are finally getting a bit dull. The handles may feel a bit thin but they are non-slip and very strong. Highly recommended this item.

This is an excellent set that should be present in every kitchen. They are extremely sharp and durable, and sell for a very good price. I especially like the large serrated knife for its versatility: it is excellent for slicing almost anything, from bagels and bread to tomatoes. The Fibrox handles provide a firm and comfortable grip.They also come nicely packaged and are a very good gift option.
