Good question. Probably Germany. Many manufacturers did not move to China because of poor quality, paint, etc. I hope that is true of playmobile. The grandkids have the camper set. My wife bought the gift some time ago.

The instructions are not in package. Please send to recipient as she cannot put it together.

You can see the instructions on the internet by googling "building instructions playmobil 70088 family camper." There is a booklet you can view.

Is this too young for a 9 year old?

Our 5 and 3 year old love it. I think it depends on how engaged the child is in that kind of pretend play. Our older grandchildren (8 and 10) play with it during their infrequent visits.

How big is the RV itself?

A little smaller than a bread box.
