Its a "full swing hammer" in my opinion. If you hold way at the end, its very powerful. Super comfy. But if you hit a rock or solid surface that has zero Give, id hold a little towards the middle to shrink the vibration on your hand. But yes. This hammer is designed to decimate surfaces. Not tap in little nails. Its light, and powerful. The slots through the neck can be used to tie a rope through it and use it like a handle bar, so ziplining is an option. Lol. I put romex wires through the holes when i am demolishing or need to pull a string like item very hard. The claw is stout and pointed basically straight out. Excellent for breaking just about anything. The ONLY missed opportunity with this hammer is that you cant use the side of the head to pound small nails in tight crevices. But if you are accurate enough, it can be done. This hammer has never fallen from my hand. The grip is almost organic. And a simple clip could be used to attach to the neck slots and clip it to a backpack. So in summary, yes. This hammer is designed for extreme situations. Not finish work. Lol.
