Q: Will this work on the brother SE600?

No. True that the hoop will fit in the machine, but once loaded with a hat the table will not be able to move properly and slip out of its gearing, it is not a good idea. If you want to do a hat, make a patch on some cotton twill fabric, cut it out, and paste it onto a hat with some E600 fabric glue. Much, much easier.

can only sew a 3.75x3.75 design, must leave room for foot ot machin to do its work

My understanding is it’s universal

I have that machine and yes, it works great. Just watch YouTube videos from people that use it since the directions are a bit lacking.
