JAPANESE PICT DICT

If your intetested in learning Japanese or already know few basic japanese, this is the book. The audio link doesnt work, but the book as such is very informative, colourful. It is extremely important to hear the Japanese pronunciations as it is very different. I used the google translator to hear the pronunciations. I hope the Audio book link could actually work.

lots of spelling mistakes in English - could do with a better proofread - which makes me worry the Japanese could be incorrect. I will be using it with a pinch of salt and looking up phrases anyway for more indepth knowledge and for potential variations.Good looking book, not too thick. Useful to keep your eye away from the screen for a bit, and thick blocks of text in the dictionary! In a good, logical order too, which can really help with kickstarting learning from scratch.

Bought it for a gift and Iam happy about it

This book is really well thought through, I can't recommend it enough.It teaches you useful Japanese words that also reveal Japanese culture - it's a totally different type of resource compared to a dictionary where you don't really have much else to do than just look up words.I highly recommend downloading the audio files as instructed on page 96 - this helps you review the content MUCH better. Just open the audio file and let it roll while you study page, and call out the words out loud with the track. This helps you very quickly review tons of vocabulary and avoid pronunciation mistakes that you could easily develop if you only read the "romaji" versions of the words.

Mi hija esa interesada en aprender Japones, le compré este libro, sólo que esta diseñado para los niños que su lengua materna es el Ingles, supongo que es por el tema de la pronunciación. Lo compré pensando que mi hija no le afectaría, ya que lo estudia y habla pero creo que hubiera sido mejor comprar uno donde la lengua materna sea el Español. Me ha salvado que viene con audio libro.

My son is teaching himself Japanese as a second language. I am an elementary school teacher and I really like the layout of this book. The pictures are a good size and the colors are bright, it's an inviting book. It is helping him to learn Japanese? I am not sure, we'll see in time!
