The material of this pad is polyester? Is it soft to the touch for the patient?

Our experience is that the pad is not "soft to the touch for the patient." This is very strong material, a substantial nylon fabric, well designed for moving a patient but not designed for comfort. We use our draw sheet as an emergency "lift" and/or "draw sheet" with which to lift a patient that has fallen and needs full assistance to get up or to be moved to a bed. The pad is an excellent assist device for two or more people to use as a lift or moving assist. The pad is not designed for sleeping/reclining comfort.

Can you confirm the material allows you to pull the patient up if they have slid in the bed? I need it for that as well as turning them. Thanks.

Yes. It has enough handle straps to pull the patient up if they have slid down.

can this be used to transfer to a toilet?

Yes. Its a great transfer tool. Great product. Dont put it in the dryer though. I did oops and it shrunk. But I still use it all the time to move and reposition my dad. If one can stand w assistance this would work perfectly to transfer to a wheel chair, potty chair, whatever.

What is the weight limit for this product? My loved one is at least 340 lbs.

It is very sturdy but stated product stated maximum weight limit is 250 lbs
