Pons521 - Avarca Classic Style Strap - Brown - 38 (US 8)

I love the materials. This is the perfect medium brown. Super soft. The heel strap feels loose but the ankle strap keeps the shoe on and is comfortable. I probably wouldn’t buy the heel strap only version because I doubt very much that it would stay on. I love the buckle, seems sturdy and there is no elastic involved. They are true to size. I would give 5 stars but I need to see how durable/comfortable they are after a few all day wears. Considering taking them on our vacation this summer that will involve a lot walking.Update: oct.2020 these are my FAVORITE sandals. I still wear them all the time. Wore last year in Paris and we walked everywhere. Highly recommend.

Sooooo in love with these! I was hesistant on the size at first, because generally I use a size 39 UK (I am a true US 8) but since I read that they stretch I decided to go with the UK 38 and they fit beautifully. The color is so vibrant and they are so comfortable! Already looking into getting another pair.

I was looking for a sandal that would go with everything for upcoming trips. I love the look and fit but the leather is so stiff it bruised the top of my foot. I have a narrow foot and they fit fine. I will keep them since I wore them but will look for a softer leather sandal.Updated- the leather did soften up after wearing and I had purchased a blue pair as well. The blue pair was much softer than the sand color. I did put leather conditioner on both pairs and that has kept them looking nice. I have worn both pairs all summer with everything from dresses, jeans to shorts and have gotten many compliments. They are a sandal that gets better as you wear them.

Love these sandals! I have boxy feet, so I wear anywhere from a 9-10. Based on the reviews I bought these in size 9, and they are perfect! They were a tad snug the first time I wore them, but were easy to break in. Plus, the toe is open, but you can’t actually see your toenails while wearing them, so it’s okay to skip that pedi! My new favorites! I will say, the “tan” color was much, much lighter than I’d expected. Almost the same color as my pasty skin, which is anything but tan!

I have bought Avarcas both in Barcelona and years ago and now through the website. Last pair I had were a tad too large. Just note that they do stretch after a bit so this time I ordered a size 8 (38) with the ankle strap and I've worn them almost constantly. Also good for walking around town. The leather is soft so no need to really break in other than a few hours of walking around your house or apartment. The color is perfect and I like the rubber sole. I will continue to buy from PONS. They are great!

It is called "lava"--it is actually a medium brown. Maybe they think "lava" sounds cool . . . probably they have never seen lava. Lava is black or nearly so, not brown.It is wrong that I am having to pay $5.31 to ship these back when the color was misrepresented in the description.

I have been wanting these sandals for so long and I'm so glad I finally ordered them! I'm usually a 7 1/2 but ordered a 7 and they are perfect. I hate my feet so I love that they don't show your toes.

Pons are a perfect walking sandal - if you don't need arch support. I've had the regular kind with the heel strap and now this kind with the ankle strap, and I prefer the ankle strap version. The heel strap never stayed up for me- but I'm between shoe sizes. I have the size 8 in both pairs, but my feet are more like a 7.75, so the heel strap always slips off. No such problem with the ankle strap! They stay on and are really comfortable and cute. Highly recommend for a comfortable, cute walking sandal.
