Review: It's a great content and very useful Review: If you've ever felt that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a bit daunting, CBT For Dummies, is here to change that. The authors do an incredible job of breaking down complex CBT concepts into straightforward, actionable steps, making it feel much more accessible, even if you have no background in psychology. The book covers all the core elements of CBT, like identifying negative thought patterns, challenging unhelpful beliefs, and forming more positive behaviors. What makes it truly stand out is the practical exercises included, these “try it at home” sections give readers tools to practice what they’re learning, helping to bridge the gap between theory and real-life application. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or just looking to better manage everyday life challenges, this book provides strategies that anyone can use. The authors strike a perfect balance between explaining the theory behind CBT and offering real-life examples that make the techniques click. There’s also a nice dose of humor throughout, making what could otherwise be a heavy topic feel much lighter and easier to digest. The 3rd edition adds some updates for our more digitally connected world, with tips for managing stress related to social media and staying connected in a healthy way. It feels like a well-rounded guide, both comprehensive and approachable. Overall, CBT For Dummies is perfect if you’re just getting started with CBT or if you need a refresher on the basics. It's practical, easy to follow, and, dare I say, kind of fun. If you're ready to retrain your brain, this book will help you take the first step.

I've used this book several times through my life. It was recommended by my GP when I was in crisis with my work and coping with my family member with dementia. It really helped me, and I passed some coping CBT techniques on to my children. I now use it as a go-to when I need support.

I love the books for dummies, because I'm a dummy and I don't like to read. I find these user friendly for me to read and understand.
