What a supprise!
I used this for locating my leach lines. I ran a power snake in the lines then connected the unit to the snake, and followed the instructions. It worked good, however, about 40' away from my septic tank it seemed to find two separate lines. I dug for the one that made the most sense and couldn't find anything. I dug at the other area and my pipe was right there! Bottom line is you have to practice a little and work with the volume a little but once you get a little experience it works great. I went back to the area where I got the false positive and dialed the unit in better and the signal disappeared, and took me back to where the pipe really was. I do think 3' is close to it's maximum depth. Excellent tool for the money

Able to Find Buried Outdoor Lampost Wiring
I purchased this locator to find buried 110v wiring from my home to two outdoor lamp posts. I had an exposed break in the power line between two lamp posts that are 100 feet apart. The original homeowner did not bury the power cable deep enough and an edger cut it. I spliced the cable and then attached the transmitter to the splice. (CAUTION: You need to have the power to the lamp posts OFF before attempting this.) I then could trace the entire cable route so I could mark the path and replace the power line a the required depth. For me, the tester worked best with the included ear phones. The tester is nicely packaged and, although the unit is made in China, the instructions are well-written in English.

It does work, was able to trace a sprinkler control
I was skeptical given the poor reviews, but there’s no way I’d spend the 300+ for a professional tracer and there was a lot of good reviews saying it does work, so i took the gamble. It does work. I put a screwdriver in the ground as suggested and connected black to it. Connected red to the wire that wasn’t working, and traced it across the yard, under a sidewalk, across more yard, and to the edge of some bushes where it was buried about a foot down in the garden bed. When i had a very strong signal the sound got louder as it went toward the wire and cut out when i was directly over the wire. Further away from the source it was loudest over the wire and didn’t cut out. I was not able to locate the break, i think its somewhere under the bushes, but this did help me jump around the break.I did try another wire and it seemed to just have a tone everywhere. Also, i had a wire laying on the ground, not connected to anything, and had a tone on that as well. So it’s probably not going to work for every wire every time, and may give false positives for nearby cabling. I don’t know if the professional 300+ models would do better or not in those cases.

Worked Great!
I needed to find my well line where it went into the house. The well pump electrical shared the same trench and this tool got me all the way from the well to the house no problem. The line was 3' below ground, and I had no problem locating it with this tool. Would highly recommend.

Yes, absolutely works
repairing a 20 year old dog fence wire about 4000" in total. the wire had been cut in a few areas after tree work was done. I started first thing in the morning after it rained. I knew where the first break was so I connected the transmitter, used a 3/8" long extension to drive into the ground. It was quick to locate the next break, but I count not find both sides of the wire. I then connected the transmitter to the other end where I started to see if I could locate the missing wire. The signal was extremely weak, guess this is the 10% art, but I was able to locate the missing end. Takes a bit of patience. I think having it rain the night before helped. In the past I have tried other amazon locators, as well as harbor freight - they did not work, I was skeptical with this purchase - but I can say 100% this worked for me.

This is a Hit or Miss Underground Wire Finder
I liked the idea of this tool, but it simply did not work for me. Each time I tried it, the unit would alert all over the yard - for every wire and every zone control box. I followed the advice of several videos and the instructions. I even tried a different ground, and the zone wire attached and unattached to the control box, but nothing would work. I went to the Kolsol website, but they have zero videos or help tools. I really needed to find a missing valve control box, but it looks like I'll have to dig backward to the box from a line of sprinklers. I've returned the Kolsol F02 Pro.

owners manual poor
I think I reviewed already, but now I have used it more. I followed a tracer wire for a water line over 1000 feet, about 15 to 18 inches deep. Quick and easy. Had to slow down a little when I got into a gravel area, but it worked. There is no mention of charging in the manual. The cable wouldn't go in the jack, I had to force it in. The manual is poorly written, as usual, by someone who knew how to use it-in another language, I suspect. The case is nearly useless. This is not jewelry! Very difficult to restore the factory cord and cable wrap, and no room for other accessories. They should just omit the case. I will say, for the money, this thing works, and appears to be the best value on Amazon.

Wanted it to work
This did not work for me. I was trying to locate a buried landscape lighting wire for some upcoming yard work but no matter how I adjusted the unit I could not get it to trace the wire accurately. It is a working landscape lighting wire that is no more than 4 inches under my grass with no breaks but this unit would indicate it was in one place one minute and a foot or two over the next. It never sounded a strong signal except right next to the starting point of the wire. Followed all instructions, but after an hour I gave up. Money and time wasted for sure.

Good, with reservations
It didn’t appear to create a definite signal directly above the cable, also appeared to be too broad on either side of the cable and therefore misleading. If the above could be resolved I would recommend it as a good instrument.

Worked as expected
I managed to map electricity conduits left in our garden by the previous owner very quickly.Worked exactly as expected, under soil, under bricks, etc.Takes some practice, I recommend practicing first with a wire on the floor and get used to the sounds, etc.

Found the break in Husqvarna robot mower cable in 2 minutes
Absolutely amazing device! I have spent days walking along the cable with an off-channel radio and only got false results here and there. With this device, the result could not have been clearer. The signal went completely off at the breaking point and forward. Without this device, we would next have had to call a service man and pay hundreds of euros (our garden is very complex and the cable has buried in time into about 3 cm depth). The cable is 20 years old so I expect we will have use for the device also in the years to come. Only flaw: the USB-C loading cable that came with the device was faulty. Fortunately we had 10 extra ones lying in the draw. So if it seems that the adapter does not fit, don't force it, use your own!
