clingy, ill-fitting, and frustrating
I've been buying Hanes tees for about 20 years. No more. The fabric is thinner and stretchy more like a spandex blend (even though it says 100% cotton) vs. the heavier, comfortable, more solid cotton they used to use. The V neck area is bigger/looser and the overall shirt doesn't really keep its shape like it used to. It clings, clumps, and twists everywhere. Moving to another brand now.

Crooked V in V-Neck
For the previous price, $11.00, these shirts were a steal, 4-stars. With the current price, I'd have to go with 2-stars. They are great to have new black v-necks all the time, but the problem is quality control. Sometimes the necks are too large, sometimes the stitching on the v-neck part overlaps. Sometimes they just fit differently or you get tons of threads that haven’t been trimmed. You never know what you're going to get. It seems like every other one has a different defect. See photo.

Bad Fit & Bad Material
I couldn't believe the other reviewers were right about the dramatic deterioration in Hane's quality in just 6-7 years. So, I tried the shirts and the reviewers couldn't be more right:- Odd design/manufacturing. The front of the shirt rides up after a while, almost making them a crew neck.- Tight where the sleeve meets the body.- The cotton is very rough, not smooth at all like their previous cotton sources.- I'm a 42 and large was too small. These shrink about 15-20% so you won't be able to keep them tucked in.For those looking for something like the old Hane's (when Hanes had good management), try Fruit of the Loom. The fit and feel is like the old Hanes. Here is the Amazon link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XC2AM4W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Buyer Beware: This is not the same quality that Hane's used to produce.
I'm a fat guy. I like v-neck tees. Now that you know who I am, let me tell you why you shouldn't waste your money on these Hane's shirts.Let me start off by saying that I've been a Hanes guy my entire life. I've always worn the v-neck, because I don't like to be strangled by my shirt. About 10 years ago I ordered 4 or 5 packs of the 2x version of this shirt. I still wear those shirts today, even though I'm closer to 3x. They have held their shape and have not shrunk. The cotton still feels soft.Between 10 years ago and today, something happened with these shirts. They are much lower quality because of the terrible cotton they use. Let me first quickly say that the shirts, at 3x are GREAT out of the package. Perfect size, they feel good, and I loved them. I loved them so much I ordered 2 more packs. Unfortunately, I did this before I had washed the first pack. To my horror, when I washed the shirts, they shrunk to around 1x. They are rough, not soft, and they fit literally worse than the 2x shirts I've had for 10 years. I stupidly thought maybe I got a dud set, and I wore and washed the second two packs I received. Same issue. They are terrible. My wife thought maybe it was whatever direct way I'm buying them through Amazon that maybe the source was different. We found a set of 3x in Wal-Mart and it had the exact same issue after washing.Bottom line: This is not your Grandpa's or Dad's Hanes. This is some garbage that Hanes is trying to pass of as quality shirts. I read the bad reviews before I ordered and I wish I had listened. Please don't waste your money. I'm currently looking for larger men's t-shirts that don't shrink or lose their softness. I'll let you know if I find some.

Sizes are getting increasingly smaller it appears... still a decent shirt for the money
I wear black v-neck t-shirts daily. While not at work I wear a black vneck and slacks. I have ordered this 3 pack for years from Amazon since it's so convenient. The Large size used to fit my slender 6'2" body well and was long enough on the sleeves and vertically length-wise across the body. From my perspective the Large size keeps getting smaller on the sleeves and body... going to order the X-Large. [no this is not from shrinkage, this is from the perspective of having ordered this so many times and witnessed them all shrink and wearing what's left of them...] I've never ordered an X-Large of anything in my life, but I'm about to and will post my review update later. Thanks team Amazon.
