I am looking to refinish our basement. Concrete block walls and poured concrete floor. Good idea or not?

Good idea. We used these rollers on our concrete floor and they worked wonders! They really do a tremendous job.

To use the roller How do you thicker the paint?

We used smooth texture from Home Depot mixed with the paint then rolled onto wall with a thick napped roller then went back over with the textured roller

How do you use the blue smaller item (not really a roller). I cannot figure out have to get the grain from that one? Thanks all.

Tilt start upper tool then drag towards you "rocking" the tool, This tool needs you to do a base first, let cure. Then the next coat cover a thin coat do not let dry, then use your tool on the wet coat.

Has anyone used the same color as their base coat their top coat? How did it turn out? Or is it better to use two different colors?

I've done a lot of faux woodgraining. There wouldn't be any noticeable difference really using one color. It might even look wavy and not in a good way. I tend to use 2-3 different colors depending on the look I want, i.e., weathered, rustic or worn. To see the grain you need at least 2 contrasting colors. I bought samples of microblend paint from Amazon to test color combinations for graining. Great way to check out colors without busting the budget.
