Brilliant account of football in the 1970s
This book is a must for Sheffield Wednesday supporters of any generation. More widely, if you were around in the 70s you need to read this book to be taken back to the days of taking/defending your 'end', wearing silk scarves round your wrist, joining the supporters club, travelling to away games in buses that are dropping to bits, buying the weekly raffle tickets etc. Because the book covers a relatively short period in Wednesday's long history it is able to go into great depth. Very well written, highly recommended.

A Fabulous Read
Read the book through in two sessions - fabulous read. Yes it brought back the memories, yes it highlighted things I'd forgotten and most of all it features many things I didn't know. It captures the era perfectly, meticulously researched and presented in a way that appeals to the reader. One of many strengths of the book are the interviews with players, managers and the trainer at the time - real insights into the club and how it operated. It is a splendid book and thoroughly recommended. And all this by a first-time author. An absolute must read for any Wednesdayite.

A delightful read from start to finish
Not only is this book educational, it offers a comprehensive and detailed account of Sheffield Wednesdays ‘darkest’ generation thanks to some remarkable and extended research by its author. In addition to the numerous interviews throughout its chapters, the book wonderfully depicts an era of football that’s often disregarded or overlooked - a history lesson indeed. This exceptionally written book is worth every penny and is a must read for all Wednesday fans, young and old.

Brilliant facts from the 1970's onwards
I bought this for my husband who started supporting SWFC in the early 1970's (his childhood) and he was really pleased with all the facts he had forgotten about this period in time. Good book!
