The litter gets caught in the track and stops working

I have to comment on how pleased I am with this self cleaning litter box! This unit replaced a previous model that appears to be very similar. I won’t say the name but the initials of the previous unit were LM. It seems that the LM product has gone to what I will term as substandard materials. I have had the LM product for 3 years and had a unit go bad. The motor stopped operating. Out of warranty so bought a new one. 3 months and motor went out. Called customer service and a new one was sent out. 2 weeks and the motor went out! The units appear very similar but the motor on the Nature’s Miracle unit is noticeably quieter and seems to be much stronger. We have two medium sized cats. They are “active”. The difference of a much lower noise level is a huge improvement over our previous units! The Nature’s Miracle also has LED lights that help us at night. I doubt if it helps the cats but we like it!

I was hoping this would make it easier with three cats. The litter gets stuck in the tracks constantly causing the motor to make a terrible noise and causes the rake to go back and forth and fail. It doesn’t pick up small poops, only large ones. The rake has malfunctioned probably 30 times in the past two weeks of owning this. The rake gets stuck SO easily. Mostly gets stuck on pee and it doesn’t give it enough time to dry before cleaning so there’s always wet litter pee on the rake that I have to scrape off several times a day. The plastic inserts to catch the waste don’t fit very well and are very flimsy. I’ve torn two of them already just pulling it out to dump it. I’m not impressed with this item at all. It’s only MARGINALLY easier than cleaning the box manually. Honestly I wish I hadn’t wasted my money. I’ve watched several troubleshooting videos and most people come to the same conclusion. This product isn’t that great. *Came to here to update- the product is now not working at all. The lights come on, that’s it. The motor won’t move or make noise and it’s completely useless to us now. I ordered this in May, started using in June when we got our new kitty, and now we are still in June and it’s not working at all. I’ve reached out to try and return or get a replacement with no luck.

This product is only good for taking up space. Don't waste your money, either use a basic cat litter tray or save up for the super pricey ones and try those.I do admit that the automatic cleaning is good for when you are away from home (eg. Work, school) to give your cat(s) a tidier box during the day.On the other hand there are many many negatives.1. The comb - the comb doesn't reach the bottom of the tray to scrape the litter from the bottom of the tray. So prepare to clean the bottom of the tray at least once a day. It also tends to get clogged with urine clumps, and then drags clean litter into the collection tray. That ends up costing you in buying more litter more often.2. The collection tray - the smell is muted well in the collection tray, that's the only good thing. The thin plastic material they make it out of is weak and feels like it's going to break. They would be better off giving you a solid sturdy one that can be cleaned and reused. It's also not nearly big enough for multiple cats. Their "multi-cat" sized unit should be the single cat size, and then double or triple the size for multi-cat households.3. Size - the overall foot print of the unit is ridiculous, with a small usable portion. Make sure you have lots of room. Our basic litter box had a smaller foot print and larger usable area.Over all, just be prepared to clean this litter box just as often as any other basic litter box. Im ready to just sell mine online to try and make some money back, and then go back to a basic box.

Bought this after my mom got it for her cat. Said it’s the best thing she’s ever gotten and world great! My original purchase only lasted a month! The motor was having issues and would stop scooping half way through the box. I thought it was because some of the litter kept getting in the way of the gears cuz when I’d clear it out and reset it, it worked again. But then I just stopped scooping all together. Contacted the manufacturer and they quickly replaced it. Awesome! Of course they sent me the LitterMaid equivalent but same thing really just blue. Well another 3, maybe 4 months and the replacement just stopped working! Motor isn’t even trying to kick on anymore. Guess I’ll give my extra stuff to my mom since her’s still works.Update***I reached out to the manufacturer to see if there was anything they could do. I never got a reply but a few weeks later I got a large package. They sent me a new machine! If nothing else the customer service is fantastic! So far the new litter box is working great.
