Poor excuse for grass seed
This seed did not even germinate the last two time I had bought it. Never again.

Sprouted in two weeks. Works best with added soil.
Location: Houston (yes I know it’s for northern lawns, but the area I’m planting this is not good for Houston st Augustine grass)Planted: January 4Conditions: first two weeks we got a cold front mid 30s in the evening through 50s. Third week back to mid 40s to 60s.Time to sprout: took about two weeks for the first few blade of grass to poke through. Third week about 70% of the grass seed sprouted. They are most dense where I added too soils vs the area that had denser clay soil but some are sprouting there. I over seeded the areas the first time and I reseeded at 2.5 weeks.I raked the area and made sure that the soil was loose. I added enriched topsoil with compost from (Houston garden center). The areas with about an inch of that had the most success. All that said I got about a 70% sprout rate in areas where I added enriched top soil and <5% in the areas that were just raked with little to no added top soil. The mix I have is in the pictures. I can’t tell which type sprouted as I’m not familiar with the varieties and they’re all fine blade grass.I’ll update the rating if the rest of seeds in the bald spots sprout... so far it’s in even.

Great grass seed
This stuff is amazing, I never write reviews and feel like I had to. I have tried pallets and seed mixed with fertilizer from Home Depot and got no results. Taking off one star because I have had to order more several times and they are trying to limit my quantity. Not sure why when I am trying to spend more money 🤔. Follow the directions and you will get results. I live in Dallas where it is already 90 plus degrees and it’s growing amazing under my trampoline and under my tree with swing. I do water 3-4 times a day though and made sure to take the area before applying. If you are debating on getting it, just do it! Amazon please stop limiting quantity though. I need more to fill in bare spots and don’t want to buy a 7 lb bag! Will update once it gets in the heat of the summer since it reaches 100 often in Texas.

Product promise
The seed sprouted well, says it will grow in shade, that is not entirely true, it grew but only to about 1 inch in height and did not fill in well at all. Better than off brand seeds, still did not do what was expected

Two weeks since seeding...success so far
Two weeks post-seeding:Apply a fertilizer specifically formulated for new lawns when seeding. I did not know this and now can't fertilize until the grass is more established. Grass seed won't germinate for many days and will give the fertilizer a chance to dilute into the soil and not burn the grass.I seeded later than I should but before the tree leaves reached their full size and create deep shade for the summer. The grass is now around 2 inches high and getting their second leaf/blade only 2 weeks after seeding.I was not able to loosen the soil in most of the area seeded. The soil is heavy in clay and amongst many tree roots. Grass is still sprouting in these areas.I have kept the soil moist...sometimes watering 2 times a day with a sprinkler for ~ 10 minutes. Temps have been in the 60s up to 80 a few days.
