Is the brightener really necessary?

Our teak is cleaned every year, this year we used the kit and the brightener did make a noticeable difference in brightness. Since the brightener is included in the kit what the heck. We purchased the stainless steel scrubber but didn't use it.

There are two kits - one has 32 oz bottles, the other has 16 oz bottles.

Can this be used on my kitchen butcher block Island?

HELL NO! If you use it to eat or cut food on! You wouldn't want to eat in your kitchen for a week if you used it. Terrible odor that does subside in time. Fully recommend for boats! Except on butcher blocks or food prep surface. I used on interior cuddy cabin on my boat. Strong odor for a week. Came out beautiful!

Why would anyone pay almost double on Amazon for this kit? You can find this exact kit at Walmart or your local marine store for less than $50.

I hated this product!!!! The cleaner literally turned my beautiful chairs black and grey. Had to spend days sanding, staining the oiling just to try to coverup the terrible black. The chairs really only needed the oil but thought I would clean them before. Really bad product!!!!
