Excellent Advice for navigating life with Grace!
I love this book as much as I loved Twyla Tharp’s The Creative Habit. In this book she shares sage advice and suggestions on how to stay vitally engaged with life as we age. A treasure!

What every over-seventy person should know!
As the founder of the Super Seniors (men & women over 70), Twyla's book underscores what I have been advocating. We have about 150 participants in the Keene area of new Hampshire who run/walk, dance and pickelball...at no cost to them! The annual local DeMar Marathon features over 100 participants who have run or walked 25 miles during the summer, then run/walk the last 1.2 mile segment of the race course on marathon day! This is an active fun-loving group. I am about to turn 86 and am still running 12 miles a week, having run many marathons and other distances in the last 40 years! I donated three books to our local library and one to circulate amongst our 15 jazzy dancers.

Keep it moving, age well
One of our great choreographers in her seventies--advice on aging well. Obviously, moving is part of it. I have several acquaintances in their late 80's and even 90's and they dance. They are enjoying a very active, healthy senior life so Twyla Tharp's advice is something worth paying attention to.While this is not an exercise book and there isn't much about her amazing life, the book is worth reading for her take on life and aging.

Twyla Twyla Twyla!
I have admired Twyla's talent most of my life. I love that she has taken the time to write a book to share about her experiences and what she has learned from those experiences. Twyla teaches us that when age slows us down, one simply just creates a new dance form! Her message is relevant and inspiring. Thank you, Twyla!

Twyla gives some good information
I have really found Twyla's memoirs to be inspiring, though this one is not as strong to me - perhaps that is because as a woman of 78, I am already aware and practicing keeping physically active through yoga, walking and strength training on a regular basis. This was reaffirming though I did not gather much new information.

Uplifting and realistic!
I really liked how well written and inspiring this book is! Twyla expresses her journey as a dancer and a woman traveling through life and what it means to be fit and healthy as one ages.

Perfect Book for the New Year
Twyla Tharp is a force of nature! We are fortunate that she shares personal stories and exposes the discipline, willpower, and routine which have allowed her to create and achieve for years. More importantly, she makes it possible for ordinary people to see accessible methods to get started on the same path to increased energy, strength, and grace. I will reread sections of this book frequently.

Wonderful book about living life fully and ageing well
Lovely book. I'm not a dancer but that doesn't matter in terms of benefitting from reading this book. The authour has led an amazing life and the book reflects her own philosophy to ageing and getting on with your life how she addresses these. Really lovely way of writing and expresses herself with conviction, honesty and much practical advice. It's really a philosophy for living by someone who has been at the top of her game for most of her career. However, it's not about your career, it's about living your life fully and gracefully. Wonderful philosophy and she understands how vital mindset is to how our lives unfold. Definitely one I will re read.

Quelle philosophie !
After receiving the book I was slightly unseated to read on the back cover (in small print) that it was in the "self help" category...This is a book of philosophy - everyday philosophy with great references, Thoreau, Proust, Montaigne, Blixen et al... to "keep it moving". Loved it!The book itself is beautiful and ergonomic, a pleasure to hold in one's hands.

Fabulous advice and insights
Written as a response to the question, "How do you keep working?". 77 year old dancer and choreographer Tharp says don't try to keep young, but build on wisdom and experience, expand your life - and remember taking care of your body is your second job, not an afterthought. I took this on a retreat in November 2019 and have made some important changes in my life so hopefully I can keep going until I am 77!
