This is the fourth Beetles starter kit that I’ve purchased as well as a “Refill kit” that was just 12 powders. Their formula is great. I’ve had some issues with the top coat drying with a blotchy matte finish, but I’ve figured out that was my error. It’s from using too much activator or not letting it dry and evaporate long enough. Give it a solid 10 minutes or so, don’t get the nails wet while waiting(we all try to multitask at the wrong times). For glitters I strongly recommend Beetles clear dip powder on top to encapsulate the glitter so that you aren’t filing it off. For the mani pictured(sorry I didn’t get a better photo, I ended up having emergency gallbladder removal the next day!) I first did a thin coat of clear over my natural nails, 2 thin layers of the solid black, 1 dip of the glittered black, and another layer of clear. It’s been over 2 weeks and it’s still just as shiny. I did my nail prep well, I use 70% rubbing alcohol as a dehydrator, so I don’t have any lifting or chipping.

The media could not be loaded.  I wasn't expecting much with how inexpensive these dip powders were but OMG! 😄 I just did my boyfriend's nails with the black multicolor glitter powder and they came out unbelieveable!! I can't believe I have spent so much money in salons. If you want to buy this don't hesitate! I'm doing mine with the silver multicolor glitter next and I am so excited! 😁 BEETLES ROCKS!

It’s my first dip set! I’m a nail tech and swore against it. But decided to give it a try since it was from Beetles. I don’t want to shell out 100$ for the Kiara sky kit if I wasn’t going to like it. They have a nice set of colors. It lasted over 2 weeks for my first set. I ordered 2 more kits because of the colors. I suggest using some clear as your first layer to prevent staining and easy removal of you want to change colors. Which the kit doesn’t have so I just used my acrylic powder and it worked great. Overall great buy 👍🏽

The only problem is they need to put bigger bottles of the nail setter in there and the harder. That is a rip off if you see these small bottles it makes you wanna send it back because being a women one loves to change polish. Think about it Amazon you'll have more people buying trust me

I was a licensed manicurist for about 10 years, then started doing my own again when Covid hit. I think this is a good starter set for the price point. But if you’ve never worked with dip acrylic before, I can see how you would mess it up easily.The main thing with this product is that even though the instruction book says to wait 20 seconds between layers, you really need to wait longer than that, especially for scrub ombré.Two coats of the gold looks darker than the powder, which was disappointing. More like sparkly mustard.Otherwise I’m pretty happy, and now that I’ve figured out some of the tricks of this particular product, I will probably stick with it simply because of the price point.

Super easy to follow the instructions. So far tougher than the dip powders I've use in the past. I do recommend giving it a little more time between steps. Says 20 or 30 seconds for the dips and the activators. I gave it a minute instead and it seemed to work better. Also, wait a few minutes before you apply the top coat.

My first time ever doing dip powder nails! Instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Products work great! Had these on for a week and no chipping or lifting! My natural nails are paper thin and they break off all the time. Normally I get acrylics, but I wanted to try dip powder to see how it worked and my nails are just as strong as they are with acrylics, but I did them myself for a third of the price! Woo!

I have thin, flexible nails so I wanted to try dip powder to reinforce them and help them grow. Unfortunately, since this product is so low quality it has done the opposite. When I was new to dip powder this actually lasted longer, simply because I was applying it so thickly. However, even then it never made it a week. With more experience and finesse this dip would actually crack and start chipping off in a matter of hours. Which is terrible for your nails because every time it cracks/chips/peels off, it's tearing layers off of your natural nails with it. Then it becomes a self-perpetuating issue because the more you try to use this stuff to reinforce your nails the more damage it does and more flexible it makes them.I'd definitely recommend trying a higher quality, more expensive kit.
