Q: Is it safe to assume thats not real saffron since it would be a LOT more exoensive if it was

This is a bit of pot luck. They put a mixture of spices in the box according to what is available. I got a small package with a few strands (5/6) of saffron. A friend also bought a pack and NO saffron. So you take a chance.

Q: Does anyone know how big the bags of spices are please

These are quite small I guess if they were put in a spice jar it would almost fill it up
