A perfect low-kvoltage power supply replacement
Purchased this unit to replace a low-voltage supply that was sagging and generating hum under load. Old unit rated at three amps. We bought a five-amp version to provide a wider margin. Once installed, it has worked perfectly. No more hum or sag under load. Very inexpensive fix for an unexpected problem in our sound system.

Works fine with Hiby FD5 DAC/Amp
The Hiby FD5 comes with a small power adapter (12VDC, 2A), it looks and feels cheap. The Hiby gets very warm with the supplied adapter, almost too hot. With the BTF power adapter, the Hiby runs much cooler and the BTF adapter gets just a bit warm, the sound of the Hiby FD5 is unaffected. The BTF provides clean power, no humming or any audible noise, I'd recommend it for desktop DAC/audio amplifiers. Cheers!

Power supply is 12V. Be sure you're not trying to power a 24V item.
I bought this unit to power Pautix strip lights but it wouldn't turn the lights on. I thought this power supply was defective and wrote a 1 star review. I soon thereafter received an email from the company very politely suggesting that there is nothing wrong with the power supply. Rather, the email gently continued that the Pautix lights require a 24V supply and this unit provided 12V. In brief, they told me the power supply is not compatible with the lights so of course it wouldn't turn them on. Boy, am I embarrassed. There is nothing wrong with the power supply. It probably works just fine with something that requires 12V. But it obviously will not power a 24V item. It was never designed to do that. So I apologize to this company and thank them for their gentle and polite email. They would have been absolutely justified in sending an email that said "Hey, stupid. The problem is operator error. Our power supply is 12V and you're trying to run a 24V item. Does that give you any clue as to why it doesn't work?" But they didn't. So, again, I thank them.

Works well, but makes noise - Addressed by seller
updated - BTF-LIGHTING was very helpful in attempting to resolve my issue of the whine during dimming. First off, I'd like to say that the whine may not be noticeable to many people. It is fairly high pitched and only audible in a quiet room. BTF-LIGHTING provided a replacement 10A power supply. This supply performed better than the 6A supply, but still made some noise. I also had a 12V 30A supply on my shelf and tested with that. Surprisingly, it ALSO made noise, so the issue is NOT unique to BTF-LIGHTING power supplies, it is more common. In my case, I intend to locate the supply inside a cabinet that will dampen then sound and effectively eliminate the issue. This is not a BTF-LIGHTING power supply issue, it is a common issue. I appreciate BTF-LIGHTINGs assistance in helping to resolve the issue and quickly responding and addressing my issue. I will definitely continue to use BTF-LIGHTING equipment and recommend it to others. original -- When the output is off, or at max power, there is no sound, but when the power is in the middle, the supply generates a very annoying whine sound that varies in loudness depending on load.

Perfect Cord Length for me, but some might need longer
My external drive died... so I thought. I then noticed the light on the power supply to the external drive wasn't lit. I got this power supply, and thank-goodness, it is exactly what I needed. It was the original power supply that died. The total length of the cord isn't very long. I have the external drive on the 2 shelf of the printer stand, and the surge protector is sitting on the floor. I estimated that the total length of the power cord from floor to the external drive is no longer than 5 feet. The power supply looks exactly as picture.

Failed after 7 months.
Power supply died after 7 months of use. Unit was used inside, plugged into the same LED strip the entire time. It was not overloaded. Tested it with a multimeter after finding the lights turned off, it is barely putting out 10V and fluctuates a lot. I have a 24V 6A power supply from BTF-Lighting that works like a champ, expected better of this one to be honest. These are far from the cheapest units available, if they aren't going to last you might as well get a cheap unbranded one.
