It barely sparks. Don't waste your money.

Flint works, but bends pretty easily. Ideal for survival only situation not survival training.

I knew the compass probably wouldn't work, it didn't. The item is very small, difficult to work with if you're a full grown person with large hands.But it does work, just make sure to carry lots of cotton or lint as the spark that comes out is not as big as a dedicated ferro rod. The whistle is loud but maybe not as loud as a real whistle. It failed to impress me overall but again, all but the compass worked.

Great bit of kit. Small enough to fit in your pocket but very cool features for my next camping trip.

The firestarter came neatly packaged in the box, though there wasnt any instructions or pictorial to show you the different functions of the fire starter. It has a small whistle, a small compass that is probably too small to read and is not going to be useful, a small scrapper and the starter itself. Looks elegant and shaped like a pen.Tried to start a fire with it, managed to do it on a normal kitchen towel. Probably will be easier with other materials.Not sure how long will the starter last thought. Its my first fire starter, and after some scrapping, I could see some silver lining, which I am not sure whether is it supposed to be the case.I did received the product at a discount for my honest opinion and review on the product.
