URC RF Water Resistant Remote Control

I like it, it's water resistant, somewhat water proof, I've seen t used in a jacuzzi..what I have to say is, if you slam it down, it stops working.. a client did that than wanted to know if it was under warranty.. um, NO?..

I can't say i hate this product, because my AV guys programmed it for me and that essentially works. So two stars. This was recommended to me by Fry's because it was "water resistant" haven't tested it but I think it's actually water proof. Didn't need that feature, and that's the problem with it I think. The battery compartment is difficult to access and the chamber that holds the batteries is so tight I have to bang the remote to get the batteries in or out to change them. I'm sure one of these days that will kill the electronics inside. I've tried different battery brands... they all fit too tight. If i don't bang it just the right amount then the batteries don't connect to the posts inside and there is no power. This remote is way too expensive to have this problem! Unfortunately, i didn't realize right away how bad this was and only after investing money in having it programmed. I've had this since 2014. I do not recommend this product!!!

Don't buy this thing. I have 4 and 2 died just outside of the warranty period. The both give "IR Out" FAIL during the self test when you first put in the batteries.Both the one's that failed have "IC310412" just below the barcode. This appears to be a batch with a high failure rate and URC doesn't care as they are outside of their warranty period (yes I called them).Nothing you can do when you get IR OUT FAIL except throw away an over priced remote. I love the other remotes though, and URC did fix my MX-900 that had bad keys.

Ordered this product as directed by Fry's technician for installation in my home. This remote allows us to have all of our components in a closet in another room. Very happy with performance.

This is a GREAT remote. It's not simple to program. The manufacturer does not provide any warranty on it when bought online. You get that only when buying from an audio/video installer who programs it and is authorized by Universal Remote to do so.
