Plastic and low quality

Love these plates but they got stained the first time we microwaved food.

We got our previous plates from Target, beautiful geometric square black plates. But they weren't microwavable and when my husband microwaved them anyway I was always a little afraid they would explode or something hah. I had severely underestimated how difficult it is to find plastic, black microwavable plates. I always had ceramic plates as a kid but quite a few broke or were chipped while emptying the dishwasher or stacking them in the cupboard. when I moved into my own place I preferred something more durable, and a little quieter too lol. These fit the bill perfectly! They're a decent size, not too big but not too small, and they're microwavable and dishwasher safe.

I dont reccomend cutting food on these it scrapes really easily. I'd only recommend cold food or food that doesn't need to be cut! Tossing these in the trash because they have grooves from cutting and now the dishwasher soap gets stuck in them!

Got because our 11 year old daughter has developed an aversion to the sound of metal forks scraping against our Corelle plates, and her 12 year old brother has discovered the aversion, making our mealtimes quite unpleasant. We got these plates in red. They are sturdy, look good, clean up well in the dishwasher, and don’t make noise when you scrape them with a fork.

We break things... A lot. We can't help it! Our dishes just tend to drop or bump or chip or crack, and then we eventually have to replace them all. I don't know why durable dishes like this have gotten so hard to find lately, because I used to be able to find them super easily when I was in college, but after scouring Walmart, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Amazon, the COZA DESIGN products were the only ones we could find that weren't a weird shape or in a weird pastel color. We got these, and they are everything we wanted & exactly what we needed. They can drop and bump without breaking or cracking, and they endure the microwave and dishwasher without any kind of melting or warping. We also deliberately chose a somewhat darker color, because we've seen dishes like this in lighter colors stain over time, and we are so far so good without any sign of discoloration! We LOVE these dishes and hope this kind becomes more popular again over time, but in the meantime, we definitely recommend them to anyone who needs something that can hold up to long-term wear and tear!
