Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess

There is a reason why Fischer is considered to be one of the best chess players of all times, so needless to say that the book would be high quality as expected. The book is more a strategy book for check mates than a complete chess tutorial. As you work through Fischer's puzzles, it kind of opens you up to the number of ways you can check mate the opponent. The book is quite lucid and exciting as well and focuses on a few strategies. However, if you are a beginner and want to learn about the game as a whole (opening, mid game, ending), then Logical Chess Move my Move is a good choice.

Excellent chess book for beginners. Don't go by the negative comments. If you're interested in chess, this is an essential book for your chess library.

Good book

I expected to learn a little from the book, but it is a simple problem book. I am rated 1300 ELO on chess.com and the book wasn't useful at all. However, for a beginner it is a very good book. I believe I will put this book in the hands of my children when they will reach the age!

Pages are printed one side all the way to the end and then reverse pages printed on the other side. So you end up having page number 10 and 345 printed alongside.
