Not a wooden utensil fan
Since wooden utensils are highly touted by many cooks, I decided to give it a try. It felt smooth upon arrival but after lightly washing (without soaking it), it was no longer smooth because the wood fibers had lifted (no surprise here). I lightly sanded and oiled it with a food-safe product, which made it look great. But when I started using the utensil, it was disappointing to see that it stained. So, I now have a much greater appreciation for my Melamine and Silicone utensils, which I've always enjoyed using.

Must-have for making roux
If you are going to make roux (for gumbo or anything else) you NEED this item. I made gumbo once without it and it took ages to get the roux to the right color because I couldn’t use enough heat without risking burning the roux. With this spoon, it is easy to keep the mixture from burning on the bottom of your Dutch oven. My kids will fight over this when I am gone.

Just the right spoon I was looking for, flat end, about the right size in with and length, use it to scrape the goodness off the instant pot bottom. Has kept the original color and washes off pretty quick and easy. I would recommend.

Nice wooden utensil for cooking
I was looking for a wooden utensil and this one fit the bill. The handle is comfortable and it "spatula" doesn't bend like my nylon utensils.
