My First Bilingual Book–Colors (English–Urdu)

Some issues with the colors: Purple is tím not đỏ tía (đỏ tía means deep red). Green is xanh lá cây not just xanh lá. Other issues included occasional weird objects (hazelnut?) listed under the colors and equally odd translations for those objects sometimes. Majority of the translations were fine but there are enough mistakes to question the confusion of using it as a teaching tool for beginners. Vietnamese/English books are hard to come by as is and I'm disappointed that this didn't work out.The quality of the board back is decent. The colors are vibrant and crisp. Unfortunately the translations are the main purpose. Due to this, I would not recommend nor will I be buying any other translation books from Milet Publishing. They obviously didn't put much effort into their research.I read through the reviews before my purchase but now that I have the book I think many of the positive reviews either gave these as a gift so they don't speak the language in the first place or they don't speak the language very well and therefore did not notice these little mistakes.

This my first bilingual Japanese book has no romaji in it, making it pretty useless for me and for any little ones. Basically only good if you are fluent in Japanese. I’ve done two years but have largely forgotten non-romaji at this point.

Bought three of this series in English and Persian (Farsi). I don't speak Persian but my bilingual friends say the translation is good.

Very few colors. Was hoping there would be colors like grey, turquoise, gold, silver, violet...

I was shopping for a Toddler friendly English-Russian book which was hard to find. This one is pretty good. It is COLORFUL and a board book. The variety of colored objects is great (animals, objects, vehicles, food) but some of the too simple drawings could have been switched out with Real photograph images. For $7.99 I MAY buy a second one to the series, but I would hope they can update these books and make them a bit more intresting.

Great for learning in the early stages.

I had purchased these books to introduce my daughter to the Japanese language. I thought these would be a perfect way. I do not know Japanese at all and my husband (who is half Japanese) can speak the language, but can not read or write in it. While these books have bright pictures and clear text, BUT it does not bridge the alphabet for those of us that do not familiar with the Japanese charactures. Sorry, this book was not for us. I did find other books on amazon that write the japanese word in the english alphabet so I can learn too.

It is great if you can read Russian but it doesn't show where the accent on the word is so you may be mispronouncing it if you just read the word as is. A good supplement to other audio study- or if you already know Russian and want to teach your children.

Book is perfect for children, attractive vibrant colors for children, and the construction of the book is durable.Most importantly the writings within the book are 100% accurate making it a solid beginner source for a child or even an adult desiring to learn the Vietnamese language.Chao hen gap lai !

Ich suchte nach einem lehrreichen und vor allem auch stabilen Buch für meinen Sohn, der zweisprachig (deutsch und urdu) aufwächst. In Pakistan selbst habe ich leider nur 0-8-15 schlabberige Bücher in schlechter Qualität gefunden - dies ist genau das, was ich gesucht habe. Ich werde mal stöbern, ob es aus dieser Serie noch weitere gibt!

Very good quality - really useful and smart photos (not pictures!) - kids can study a LOT from just one page! RECOMMEND!!!
