Great blade
Picked this up to be my hunting knife because of the good blade curve. This knife is a cutter! Over the course of the season, I field dressed 6 deer, including batoning through bone, and I haven't had to sharpen the blade yet. As you can see in the photo, some of the coating wore off the blade, but the blade itself remains sharp.

Solid versatile knife! A hunters must have!
I have the Rat-5 and want the Rat-3. I bought this one for a buddy and it fits better in the hand (subjective). The weight and length of this blade is great for skinning animals if you're a hunter. My Rat-5 skinned an adult moose no problem not needing a sharpening like my Gerber 3" blade 3 years prior. The Rat-5 is better for making kindling in the bush but that's really it. I love this blade for the light weight and length of blade for fine work. Worth every penny.... the sheath is horrible so I made my own!
