Can this be used on an electric glass cooktop?

I have a glass cook top and it does fine.

What kind of sound does it make, just whistle or like locomotive whistle which I've had in the past?

i agree with everyone here. forget the whistle sound, you should be worried about the plastic handle and around the spout cuz it's going to melt. i bought a similar one here at amazon and it melted. don't get one with plastic handles. get one with handles made of all stainless steel, wood or silicon. who thought it was a good idea to make tea pots with plastic parts that melt?

Where is this made ? looking for made in the usa....will not buy anything from china !

The inside coating of this tea kettle is coming off when pouring water out. Can anyone help?

Mine is bright and shiny. Grayish flakes are normal after about 15-20 kettles of water run through them, because just as a drip coffee maker builds an inner coating of the steam and water tubes using "hard" water, this kettle requires a regular cleaning with 50 percent water and 50 percent vinegar. All shiny again. The more you wait to do this, the more difficult to clean the thicker layer of "limestone" build-up. Be certain to rinse 2-3 times with 100 percent water after cleaning to eliminate the vinegar's odor and taste. This is the prettiest "Candy-Apple Red" kettle and it provides a larger supply of hot water than most. Pretty. Darn, it's pretty. It's prettier than a '67 Chevelle Super Sport with a 396 painted the same color! Recommendation: Clean your kettle and enjoy it.
