Our weather here has been nasty, it is either snow, rain or icy out, but I just couldn't wait any longer to play with this. My husband is gone overseas quite a bit and it is always just me and my pets at home and I have really been feeling like I needed something to let me know what was going on outside when I am alone. For the moment I have just connected 2 cameras and am using them through the window and hooked up to an extra monitor that I have. I went as far as to have a friend come over and walk outside on the front porch with the cameras in the dark do I could test out the night time infrared capabilities. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked outside with the porch light on and off as you can see by the pictures. I am thinking about setting this up in the bedroom since i can see outside at night and I can just leave it on while I sleep and that way if I get woken up by noise I can just look at the monitor.When I first got it I definitely had to read the instructions that came included on a cd. If you are the type of person that learns well by reading it yourself then you will have no problem hooking this security system up. I realize some learn better by doing, have a friend help you then. Everything comes included in this kit that you will need for a simple set up. It is pretty easy to use. It comes with 4 cameras that are for indoor or outdoor use and they are waterproof. you can view on your cell or on a monitor/tv. This system does exactly what I needed it to do.

Need more instructions on how to get the video on my TV and on my Android phone

I have had numerous issues with the cameras and they are needing replacing. I wanted to try another system and found this KAReye system. Pros:    • Cameras are indoor outdoor • Motion detection • Motion detection filter • Infrared for night viewing • Instructions on CD • Monitor over Internet • Long cables • Mouse and remote included • 720p cameras • HDMI or VGA for monitoring • 2 USB Port rear +1 on the front panel  Cons:  No Hard DriveThis security system is not a plug and play system. It works very well once set up, but if you have not had any experience setting up a security system, you will want to be sure and fully read the instructions that are on the CD. You need to have knowledge how router port forwarding works in order to access the system via the Internet. There is no hard drive, but one can be purchased. It will require a SATA drive. No drive is needed if all you are doing is monitoring. The unit will work without the drive installed. There are many options with setting this up. Motion detection is a big bonus. I set the cameras to record only when motion is detected. The motion detection filter is pretty cool. I filter out areas of the image so that it does not pick up motion from those spots. I filter out a bush or anything that moves in the wind. Please see my video for much more discussions and review of this product. Overall, I am very pleased with it and I will be permanently installing it and replacing my Lorex. Please note that the video quality in this review is poor. The video gets squished by AMZ and the quality suffers. I am giving this 4 stars because the unit did not come with a hard drive. Otherwise, the unit is solid.

Anymore, most of the people in my neighborhood have resorted to using surveillance camera systems for added protection because having a dog just doesn't seem to be enough to make the home feel as secure as it used to. When I had the chance to check out this system, I was beyond myself and couldn't wait to get it up and running. The cameras themselves can be used both indoors or outdoors. The glass lens is wide so it covers a reasonable amount of surface area. For me the most amazing feature of this system that is that it really does deliver night vision technology along with motion detection. Talk about feeling extra safety when the household is asleep. Because the base of each camera is pretty flush with the camera body, you might want to make pilot holes before screwing the unit into the wall. A long drill bit should let you maneuver around the body of each camera. I encourage you to have someone help you out with setting up the setting up the system software if you’re a novice with IT. That'll speed up the time it takes to get this system working for you. If you want to record footage then you'll have to get a hard drive. Don't let that intimidate you because the DVR is light and simple to open up. If all you want is to keep an eye on all angles of your home then this has you covered. Because this package came with 60 ft. long video/power cables per camera unit, I was able to run three of these through our attic to cover the sides and back of the house. The pic I included here is the view from the unit we installed at the corner of our deck overhang.If you're looking to give your home a bit more security, look no more. Don't say you are a 1080p security system when they're actually 720p cameras. It's misleading and wrong.
