Bought this in hopes of watching the birds without disturbing them. Advertised as having 1 way mirror so you can see in but birds can’t see out. This is definitely not a 1-way mirror. Tried positioning both ways and you can still see through.

Put up as instructed a month ago… still no birds.

TL;DR: Wood is nice, mirror is too dark and too reflective to see into the house. Not a true one way mirror, birds will see you, too. Entry hole should be bigger for bigger species (like Robin's/Cardinals/Blue Jay's) - about Finch size.The wood seemed really nice and the idea is there, but the mirror is definitely not a one way mirror. When I slid the *plastic lined with silver film* into place, I couldn't see into the box because I couldn't see past my own reflection. When I looked through the bird hole to see if they would notice movement, I could absolutely see everything. I (barely, because it was so dark) noticed the same thing when I looked from the back and into the house. I flipped the "mirror" around both ways to make sure I wasn't using it incorrectly, and sure enough it all looked the same either way. There's really no way to see inside the house unless you have a flashlight to shine right in there. Which would scare any birds you have away, anyway. I also noticed that the bird hole is rather small, and it could stand to be larger for bigger species. It looks big enough for probably Finch species, or other birds of similar sizes. It'd be nice to give larger species like Cardinals, Robin's or Blue Jay's a chance to live in here if they found it comfortable enough...Overall, I'm disappointed because I was so excited to see some wild life from my apartment since they don't allow bird feeders due to critter attraction 😔

I got this birdhouse for my 6 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it, its very detailed and has great suction power, we placed it in our balcony where she can see the birds from our living room. Such a great idea to keep the little ones curious!

UPDATE: After hanging from April to August, without any birds in it, it is falling apart all on its own, alas. I may repair it and try once more next spring.I want to like this: the wood is nicer than plastic, and the quality overall seems good. The plexiglass seems more like a two-way mirror however: it's very reflective on both sides. I've put it on the third floor, so have added a suction hook above it with a lanyard in case the birdhouse suction cups fail over time. At least it has four suction cups instead of others that just have two. It also came with a small eye hook and a divet in the center of the roof so it was easy to screw in. Overall, they were thoughtful about making it work for people.It seems the best quality overall on Amazon, for what that's worth. Other birdhouses have reviews where people do in fact get birds in them, so we'll see. Timing might be important on that: getting the house up early in the springtime as the migrants arrive is important, and since shipping on this takes a long time, one must order it in late winter, it seems.

I love the item that it’s made of wood very easy to set up.Disappointed it has holes in the side, this means that Jenny Rennes in my crew yard won’t go into it over the winter as they will not be protected from the elements. The wind can get in from the sides as well as the front, so not any good for what I wanted and I will not recommend it.

This is such a fantastic product and so unique, as I have not seen anything like this on the market. I decided to buy this birdhouse, since working from home, trying to enjoy the garden a bit more since the pandemic. I thought this would be a great idea as a birdhouse to hang from one of the big trees I have in my garden, as I noticed a birds nest. This is exactly what I am looking for and ticks all the boxes and I can paint it to make it more unique to me. Great quality, super sturdy and I love the option to use this as a spy birdhouse if I decide to attach to a window with the magnifying glass panel, that just needs to be slotted in at the back. I think the packaging was fun with a little puzzle for the children. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family. Such a great simple idea to appreciate the little things in life!

This is a beautiful birdhouse excellent craftsmanship and lovely natural wooden design. It has a lovely mirror to see the bird’s nesting and is beautiful to see in my garden and matches with the natural wood in my garden. I’m delighted with the sturdiness of the birdhouse and very pleased with this buy.

It arrived fully assembled, no tools required and good quality. All I need to do is give it a quick lick of paint.The one way mirror is a great idea and perfect for the nesting season. My children will love it and hopefully it might encourage them to spend more time on nature and less time on their electronic devices !I will be buying another one for my parents.Linda

Unless you installed a bright light inside the box, the "mirror" will only let a bird see out, with you unable to see in.Basically, no bird is going to move in with such a bright view into your house... but you would never know that anyway, because you'll only ever see your own reflection!
