Felâtun Bey and Râkim Efendi: An Ottoman Novel
K**A
A great endevour of the translators, the novel is horrible though
This is a translation of one of the first 19th Century Ottoman novels in the Western style. The translation is a marvelous achievement and kudos to all who did it. However, the novel is quite horrible. Read it as a documentary of an era, not for enjoyment.

Great book!
Quick read and a great book, especially if you like Ottoman literature. This book is generally taught in Turkish high schools, definitely a great piece of literature- witty and very entertaining.
