I bought this for my 1 year old daughter to sit in our living room so books can be easily played with, and it does the job perfectly !Agree with the other reviewers in that it would be beneficial to have the two back partition floors padded slightly so books don’t fall out of sight, however I doubt everyone would agree on the height of said ‘shelves’, and I merely used the packaging the book case came in to raise the floor level.Although the product is slightly more expensive than I initially wanted to spend, I’m so glad I purchased this. The finish, quality and style are just beautiful, and it looks stunning. Would definitely buy again and recommend to others x

In the pictures, it looks like the back and middle shelf have a bottom somewhere about half way up. You can see the from the size of the books used in the pictures that they are standing on something quite far up which looks great.In reality the shelf goes all the way down to the floor which means even the biggest of books gets lost down there and completely impractical for a small child. Will need to add my own shelf or pack the bottom with cardboard as others have suggested. Very disappointing and misleading.

Beautiful piece of furniture and looks great in our nursery. A shame that the back compartment is so deep as books get a bit 'lost' down there. We had to pack it with some cardboard to raise the books up. Not a big deal but design could be improved
