How do you know if it's really working

I have an eye diagnosis that MD recommends 4 tabs daily of this vitamin. Even with the subscription savings of 40% it still runs almost $500.00 a year. The last bottle I opened had not one, but TWO "half" tabs in it, each broken way before they were coated with a supposed coating to prevent stomach upset. This coating is useless as I get severe burping up of the vile vitamin taste all day long taken with or without food. I feel quite disturbed that they do not do a better job at quality control esp. when this product is so expensive. If I could find this preparation in a less expensive form I would switch companies in a heartbeat but I have yet to find one that has same ingredients in same amt's necessary. Being on a FIXED INCOME, do I eat or buy these flippin vitamins so I do not go blind????? Oh, and they are a pain to swallow as they are HUGE!!

I had a friend who suggested I take these 10+ years ago! I am not saying they are a cure all! What I am saying is that I know these vitamins help my overall well being!
