Q: Do they run true to size?

Yes! I wear 8 1/2 ordered 8 1/2 fits perfect.

Q: These boots all have rubber soles, and will melt if they touch a hot tailpipe. Are any of your boots made with leather soles?

These questions don't go to the vendor. Just to other purchasers. These boots like most Harley boots have soles that yes may melt some if they come in contact with pipes. However in all my years of riding I have not done that. And if I did I can't imagine leaving my foot there long enough to burn up my soles. I would not trust leather soles for riding. They do not provide proper footing. I would be more afraid of losing my footing that melting a little bit of sole. Unless you are a passenger only then I'd suggest any of the western boots vendors (Ariat, Justin, etc) or Harley after riding boots if it's leather soles you want.

Q: Does this boot have that hard ankle guard?

Yes, good support in the boot. The zipper works really good too you can get your foot in there without breaking your ankle. Good one to get!
