About how many bobbins fit in the box?

I use DMC 6-strand cotton floss; and I put all new skeins on plastic bobbins, and was able to fit 3 per compartment -- or 72 per container.

How do i put it togethet

the floss finder comes with individual dividers on a strip that you take apart and place grip side up in the slots provided. It's your preference as to how large you would like that particular compartment to be.

The spools themselves, in my experience, are either plastic or cardboard. The cardboard ones are usually more awkward to fit into thread organizers. If you are asking about the length of the floss skeins themselves, that can vary with the manufacturer and/or type of thread.
