My bike rack is a tray; my partner has one that the bikes hang from by their top tube. My Salsa Horsethief (full-suspension) does NOT like his bike rack, and bounces allllll over the place—which causes me a fair amount of stress on any lengthy travel.THIS TOOL SAVED THE DAY! It is PERFECT, with one decently sized con. My bike hangs gently now, and doesn’t get thrown all over the rack…. BUT it does make it easier to steal one’s bike! We always make sure to lock our frames together as well as using the built-in locking mechanism because this makes you bike dangle OUTSIDE if the built-in locking mechanism. I do believe it is sturdy enough and made of high quality materials, so I trust it won’t break mid-drive. But I do worry about bike thieves (PSA, if you are a bike thief… you are scum.) and anyone with those intentions will be able to easily remove your bike from this mechanism/hanging rack.

This is the best bar you can buy. I have used other options and this has the best features.

Works as expected. Didn’t scratch my bike. After inspection this is the exact same bar I bought years ago from a non-brand. Use this bar to mount my step through bicycle.

This is just two pieces with an elastic cord pulling the two together. Perhaps this is adequate for bike racks that have a hook bar to go over this but I was considering using this to hold up a bike on a hanging bike rack. No way, should anyone consider this type of bar for a hanging bike rack. I have since bought a Kuat Piston Pro bike rack which I love and feel very safe traveling with my Tenway ebikes. Skip the bar and get a Kuat Piston tray bike rack...easy loading and unloading bikes and rock solid.

I use it for my hybrid girls bicycle. It is easy to operate. I like that both ends have a button release to open it, making it more secure. The only issue I had with it is that I am short, so the seat is set down all the way. The bar interfered with the reflectors on the tube under the seat, as well as underneath the handlebars. I had to loosen the reflectors and rotate them around so the bar wasn't resting on the reflectors.
