Yes, but only Sailor brand converter.

Does the Sailor Lecoule nib have a flex or stiff when writing?

It's a steel nib with a little bit of line variation without major flex. I use mine for school on a daily basis.

Basically, yes. All pens that are not wood or metal are some form of celluloid and or plastic. I have several of these pens and they are sturdy workhorse pens. If by chance someone uses, then breaks or looses my pen; and that hasn't happened yet, I will not feel that I have lost a valuable pen.
