I've been working on a 1959 Nash and wanted to install a disconnect which would work well, be electrically reliable, make a proper connection when 'on', and economical so that I could easily disconnect the battery when working on the car. I have always been skeptical of these disconnects built into the terminal clamp. Now that I know how these work and have tried this one I am pleased with it. When you turn the green knob the cable stay physically connected but electrically disconnected. The battery is completely isolated electrically but the cable is not loose. It is quick and easy to use. If you want a visual reminder it is 'off' or to prevent someone from reconnecting the battery you can completely unscrew the green knob and take it out of the cable clamp. I just turn the knob out a few turns and do not remove it from the clamp. I put a dab of DOW #4 on the contacts to prevent corrosion over time. It probably was not necessary as the contacts are plated and battery is protected in the car under the back seat.

Installs easily on negative (always negative!!) battery post perfectly. Put one on each of my F-350 batteries to quickly disconnect when doing service. So much easier and cleaner than removing negative lead off the post each time!๐
