Review: The Social Animal, by Eliot and Joshua Aronson, is constructed in a way where the authors provide the definitions of psychological terms and then follows them up with engaging, vibrant examples that allows the readers to truly understand them. The authors use examples that play out in our everyday lives which puts us in the shoes of the concept being discussed, particularly with their usage of second person point of view. Whether they’re talking about how world leaders reduce cognitive dissonance about wars by finding ways to justify it or the discussion of the recent events of clear prejudice following the 2016 election such as the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville that took place last year, the author engages readers with news and current events that readers are aware about and can really comprehend more properly since they are already aware about them. Allin all, I managed to step out of my own shoes and recognize that the way that it was written is a good way to discuss the topics and terminology in the chapter to someone that doesn’t know as much in the section - again, discussing current events like with the Charlottesville rally when discussing prejudice. It really tackles many different aspects about prejudice, such as sexism, racism and even homophobia and really does so thoroughly. I really enjoyed reading about the cases of prejudice because it really showcases the prejudice that’s very, very existent in society, in our country, around the world today. I would definitely recommend using this book when teaching someone about social psychology, whether it’s just an individual or an entire class. Though I would recommend this book, it is expensive and it’s frustrating that in order to pay for it, I have to rent it—it’s an amazing book and I would like to keep it. Review: Must r as to know why people who do crazy things are not necessarily crazy

The book The Social Animal is one of the best book I have read during my college years. This book helped me to have a better understanding in why humans behave the way they behave. The reading was easy to read, the concepts, the content, the examples given by Elliot and Joshua Aronson helped me to have a better understanding about social psychology. Sadly, I had to rent this awesome book because I couldn't afford to buy it. This book is extremely interesting and fun but IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE. Please kindly LOWER the price. Thank you ! P.S: 4 stars only for the outrageous price
