Conversational style, methodical layout, indicators of things that may derail you, and a quick easy read. Wonderful presentation for the person that wants “just the facts” and has very little time to ramp up. Useful worksheets and checklists are included along the way and there are helpful extra tips in the back. I think I’d just give a copy of this to anyone in need of a jumpstart in managing a project. Very nice. Review: Short and Sweet - I'm new to project management and began reading this book a few weeks before I was scheduled to take an intensive 3-day training course on the subject. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish this book before completing the class. Since I ended up finishing the book after my class, it's hard for me to separate what I learned from the book and what I learned from the class. However, this book is a great first read for someone new to the subject since it's light on complex theory and examples, but it gives you just enough to start acting on the information, including templates and forms. You can easily read it in a couple sittings. Since the book is quite brief, I consider it mostly useful for small work projects or maybe a personal project (small home improvement, hobbies, etc.). After reading this book, if the subject catches your interest, I would then suggest you find more intensive books or classes before biting off a big project.

A clear guide to success
As other people said, this book resumes all the technical knowledge into an easy guide; suitable for most of the projects a professional has to manage, forgetting to fullfill unnecessary requirements. The most important part is the emphasis the author makes on the need to get a complete vision or scope of the project. With this information the project manager is able to create his or her own vision of the expected results. Also the need to make a good planning is very good. It is very important to invest time in planning in order to have a good reference of what has to be done. The book includes example forms and checking lists to complete each phase of the work. Probably you are going to have some doubts after reading it, but you won't get lost. Maybe you will be in situations not specified here, but as the author says, Start and do the job. Learning is also part of a project. Don't forget, the communication to the stakeholders is one of the most important part of the project.

simple read
Helpful for the beginner, however the book simplifies it to the point that I'm concerned it is not a realistic guide when getting to your firt

maybe too simple, but i liked it :)
This barely qualifies as a book. Line spacing is crazy, number of empty pages is too high, but still - I liked the "book". This should have been a blog post at best, 5 or 10 pages could have described everything perfectly. Comes down to few good checklists and guidelines, and the humor is there, in a OK manner. :) Seriously - I'm a slow reader, and I read this thing in 1 hour. Half way through I thought I wouldn't like it, because it was too simple and not "serious enough", but at the end I felt happy and glad that I read it. Nice little afternoon booky. :) Def not worth $15+ (with the shipping), but it's worth the Kindle price of few bucks.

Great for Training Staff on Project Management
I am a CEO of a small but growing business and was looking for a tool to help train my staff to manage projects. This book is the perfect fit for my needs. I read it one evening and have bookmarked a handful of checklists that will allow us to manage our projects with much greater efficiency. The author introduces a chapter with a quote that perfectly captures the essence of this book: "Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity." - Charles Mingus And, sure enough, this is a very "creative" book! It is an efficient, yet comprehensive approach to project management. Very worthwhile investment of my money and my time.

Practical Application for the Project Manager
When I began to read Project Management Lite, I didn't know what I was going to be in for. I was expecting it to be all technical which would lead to more confusion about the process of project management! WOW!! I am happy to say it was far from what I expected. Project Management Lite is truly a breath of fresh air. Written by Project Management Professional Juana Clark Craig who has over twenty-five years of project management experience working for Fortune 500 corporations, this author without a shadow of a doubt understands the importance of presenting information in laymens terms in order to achieve THE desired result. "Project Management Lite" is heavy on giving project managers definitions, examples and even detailed steps to follow to ensure they know exactly what to do from start to finish. Author Clark has also included a quick start checklist for the person who is already in the midst of a project; yet not sure about what they are doing. She gives the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE and WHY of project management. I can't help but wonder how many projects have failed due to a lack of information like she presented in this book. For those who are project managers, "Project Management Lite" should be the reference material that stays on your desk and guide you throughout each project. I commend this author for taking her experience and sharing it in a book.

Good summary
Author has presented a good and easy to follow explanation of the project management process. She provides a system outline that almost anyone could follow to manage a "lite" project. I would definitely recommend this book.

In my opinion, this is a good reference book to understand the main idea about how a project manager should act, especially because it is straight to the point, presenting relevant examples that simplify its application. I really recommend it!

Very well written and organized, not too long, encouraging. IGood for future reference too, as we all tend to forget sometimes

I like that it was simple! Far from complicated language you find in other books or PM courses! Of course it didn't go to some details so you may need some other references too for some parts but it showed you well the road very well and is enough for what I was looking for in this book

I wanted a credible and brief overview of PM. I read this book in a day during my commute. It's an overview with enough detail which is the structure I was looking for. The rest I'll figure out in the doing.

too simple, few common-sense concepts that are missing to no one, collected in a book. frankly too little, they do not justify the price; sorry.
