This printer exceeded my expectations, and I have worked in IT for decades
I had this printer in my shopping list for quite some time. I read the reviews, some good, some bad, even reviewed videos and professional reviews on this Canon G2260 Pixma ink jet. I pulled the trigger after two weeks reviewing and it arrived in two days. I watched a you tube video on setting it up. One mistake I made was not being able to install the print heads, and just had to watch another video on it. I thought I might be pulling up too hard and didn't want to break anything, so I watched the video. After it was all set up, and initialized (no software had been installed at this point, and no USB connection) I copied a printed piece of paper (black and white). The copy came out crisp and clear. I moved the printer to my second computer and downloaded the driver from Canon. They say in their instructions to only download from the Canon website. So, do not use any other websites for the driver download. When I tried to install the driver, it started to look for the printer. I had not plugged in the USB, so I did that and re ran the driver install program. It kept giving me "printer not found". So I had to try it about three times and even though it still said "printer not found" but did show it on the "searching" screen, it did finally install the printer driver which includes the scan utility. I then printed my tax returns, 24 pages total, two copies. It printed at about a page every 20 seconds, but I had it set at the highest print quality for everything. I was ok with the speed. The last thing to do was scan. I opened the scan software and placed my recent electric bill (a color document) on the scan glass. It scanned the whole document in about five seconds. It defaulted into saving it in .pdf format, but you could change that to .jpg or something else. I was really astounded on how super fast it scans. Now that I have the full suite of software installed, I am satisfied that if I ever need to scan, I can do it very well and cheaply too. These bottomless tank printers are really fantastic and save you lots of money in ink. For a sub two hundred dollar printer, it is totally worth it.No USB cord or software is supplied with the printer. You get two large bottles of black ink, and a bottle each of each color. The color ink bottles contain half as much as the black ink,, and the black ink has a tank that is twice as large as the color tanks. I also have an Epson Eco Tank printer, same principle as this one, and the one thing that I don't like about it is the mess that happens when you fill it with ink. The way they designed the Epson, it is unavoidable to make a mess. But with this Canon G2260 printer, the bottles of ink are specially developed so that you don't get any ink on your fingers and you don't even have to wear gloves. This is really a great, affordable printer. Get it.

Good basic scanner-copier-printer
I decided for this particular model for following reasons: a) It works with my Chromebook print AND scan, b) It's a basic machine and NOT WIFI/Bluetooth enabled, c) The Megatank system, and d) The price- ($200 [tax included] as of this date)- for a copier-scanner-printer with Megatank is pretty decent, IMHO.PROS SO FAR: Setup was a no brainer, even with the basic "get started" instructions. Additional / advanced setting instructions are available online. The URL is in the manual; I had no problem with bogus websites as I typed it in my browser.Filling the ink in was smooth and accident free. The bottles are spill safe.Once I plugged the USB into my Chromebook it started working immediately- no drivers download or visiting Canon's website was necessary. Making sure that that the printer is registered in the chromebook's "Add a Printer" section and then SAVED should avoid any further trouble. The scanning function is supported from my Chromebook for this model! That's very important, as not all Canon models do scan from a Chromebook! It prints FAST and QUIET compared to my old Pixma1800 printer.CONS SO FAR: The connectivity is USB ONLY, which is not a problem for me but could be an issues for some users; and Canon has gotten so cheap that they don't ship the USB cord anymore with the printer; it has to be purchased separately. (I used the USB cord from my old Pixma printer). Therefore 4 stars.Another Con is that the machine takes forever to start the print job (apparently it re-calibrates and cleans the print heads EACH TIME). This however is a typical feature on all Canon printers I had. Once it prints, it prints FAST!Being a high volume printer it's supposed to be used frequently, which could become an issue for certain Home Only users. It works with Windows versions from 7 on. This is important as I will purchase a new PC soon. Unfortunately WinXP is not listed, so it won't be usable with my old WinXP laptop :(Further considerations: How much the ink will last is to be seen. The printing cartridges for my old Pixma1800 were a vampire on my budget; I truly hope that I will fare better with the Megatank system. Depending on that; the durability of the print heads and the cleaning sponge; and the quality of Hi Res Photo prints I might forgive the missing USB cord and upgrade this printer to 5 stars. All in all, my first impression of this printer is positive.I will get familiar with Advanced Settings and options, and try to get spare print heads just in case; also hopefully the sponge tray is available to the average consumer. I don't want to throw the printer out after a year or two because these parts are not available anymore, or only through an authorized Tech Rep!

High quality printing
I have been very satisfied with this printer. We bought it because you can refill the ink in the machine. I have not had to refill it yet! I've had this thing for more than a year and have used it pretty frequently as a personal printer. It does a great job and is easy on the ink.
