The second choice isn't "purple"!
I dislike the fact that, more than four years after the /first/ question and answer about colour choice, aside the many reviews on the matter, that Sistema hasn't taken any action to update their stock inventory barcode system to fix the apparently many-times-raised issue of product colour. Is four years not ample opportunity? Sad that Sistema doesn't appear to be listening to their customers, or that someone higher up the chain doesn't think this kind of thing matters. What a palaver...

Brilliant for work lunches
I don't fully understand the 1 star reviews for this product. I've never had a microwave explosion because I never leave the microwave unattended whilst my food is being heated. If you're just going to dump ingredients into this container, set the microwave to Chernobyl and then wander off, well...good luck to you!In the meantime, I use this every day for work lunches and not actually for porridge as (probably) intended. I have had no spills, no explosions and even received the correct colour product.Things I've heated up at work without disaster:-A thrown together mix of: Half a tin of mixed beans, some frozen peas and some frozen giant cous-cous & mixed veg-Pre-cooked lentils, chickpeas and spinach I prepared the night before-Noodles (Brown rice vermicelli and Shanghai-style noodles) cooked and then immediately cooled with cold water that morning-Tinned soupIt's £6.50, easy to clean and does the job brilliantly. Highly recommended!

EXPLODING PORRIDGE IN AN INSTANT
A good idea but not if you use the instant porridge by Quaker Oats. The sachet of mixture plus the measure of milk only half fills the bowl but as you microwave it despite the steam vent you porridge Blasts through the vent and splatters all over the microwave. Also tried withe vent left a bit open and the same mess!! Totally useless for porridge, and now scared to try soup !!

Exploding porridge!
Tried cooking 40g of oats - entire bowl full boiled through the vent and spattered all over the microwave. On the plus side my microwave is now really clean. Probably a good bowl for reheating small meals, though I wonder about staining/tainting with strong flavours. If you're looking for an easy way to cook porridge this isn't it - A very large mixing bowl uncovered has been recommended to me, to allow the oats to boil up without overflowing.

Pointless. Almost.
If you like porridge and you're at home you'd use a bowl yeah? So you'd only want one of these for when you're not at home right?Well, if you're thinking you'll mix your oats with milk or dairy free, or water in this, put the lid on a put it in your ruckie for later you should expect to have the liquid all over last night's homework or spreadsheet to impress the boss, spare pair of socks and everything else in your ruckie for the day ahead.THIS IS NOT REMOTELY LEAK PROOF. There is nothing resembling a rubber seal. You might as well use a bowl from home and cover it with, well pretty much anything that isn't leak-proof; kitchen paper, a cuddly toy, a pair of pants. Or buy a small dry bag to mix and move your preferred breakfast cereal. If on the other hand you want a plastic bowl with a lid that you can use in a microwave and have to carry a pint of milk (or alternative) and your porridge oats separately then this is for you. Otherwise.................................................This is an almost pointless item.
