Answer: According to Consumer Labs, the claimed amount by Organic India is 4.8mg withanolides per 1600mg. Consumer Labs testing revealed 12.1mg withanolides which includes withanosides per 1600mg serving.

To the manufacturer.... is this product an extract that has been standardized to contain 2-5% withanolides?

This is not a standardized extract. It is the entire ayurvedic root, cleaned, dried, and ground. Organic India does not sell refined extracts. They sell ayurvedic roots, herbs, and seeds. I buy the 1 pound bag of ashwagandha. It is so cheap you can afford to use a half-teaspoon measure in a single serving. It is more ashwagandha than three normal capsules contain. At that dose, it doesn't matter if it is "standardized" or not. You are drowning in ashwagandha.

The bulk herb ashwagandha root powder, 1 pound  Ingredients: Organic Ashwagandha (root) powder.  Serving Size: 1/2 tsp 0.08 oz/2.5 g approx. Servings Per Container: 181.6.  So there is 2.5g per 1/2 tsp.  The capsules are 400mg each (800 for the serving size of 2 capsules) in a vegetable cellulose capsule with no additional fillers mentioned.
