One of my favorites because it doesn't sting my eyes
This was my first time purchasing this from Amazon though I've bought this product elsewhere before. This is a sunscreen I come back to because I can use it on my body and it works relatively well on my face as well. It is hydrating and can give a matte-ish looking finish although on my face I'd say it leaves more of a dewy look because I put moisturizer on prior to applying. I've seen a few reviews mention there is pilling when applying to the face and while I've had that happen it's normally only during the day when I reapply. I think that first thing in the morning I don't really have that issue because of the moisturizer I put on before- I let the moisturizer soak in a bit before going in with the sunscreen. My favorite thing about this sunscreen is that it doesn't sting my eyes, I've worn it out on 90+ SoCal heat and it has not stung my eyes- there's been numerous sunscreen I like on my face but don't repurchase because even mid-80"s heat causes them to run and both sting and blur my vision. As for my giving this a 4 rather than a 5 it is because it leaves a mild white cast after I apply it norming and reapplying throughout the day. The mild white cast does eventually go away but it does take some time, though that is the one downsides I am glad that I'm at least not forced to sport a ghost-ish face all day. In all honestly, the cast is only mild when compared to others like the New "Sheer" Bluelizard SPF 50 face lotion, among others.I'm a little jealous of others who say they don't have a white cast at all but different products react differently with different people so I know it might just be a "me thing." Overall this is one of the sheer and non-tinted sunscreens I am happiest with and will repurchase again as needed unless I stumble onto that unicorn 50 broad spectrum SPF, cast free, no eye burning/ irritating, and reasonably priced and sized sunscreen =)

Did not have the matte effect
Pros: lightweight texture.Cons: has very strong 'sun tan lotion' fragrance that will linger for a long time. It did not blend out well. After a lot of rubbing, it turned into stringy glue-like streaks of white on my face. Very strange and definitely does not give the matte effect as advertised.

Smells like I'm on vacation!
Love the smell- reminds me of vacations and basking in the sun lolIt is matte however I did deduct 1 star as it wasn't as matte as I would have liked. I thought it would be COMPLETELY matte, but compared to the majority of "matte" sunscreens this is definitely in my top 5. Great product guys I apply this in-between my serum and Formula 10.06 shine free matte moisturisee, which btw is the BEST totally shine free daily moisturizer and I'm on my third one!) And it works beautifully that way and I DO get a 100% shine free matte face. Even under makeup (I apply serum, then this sunscreen, my face screen then use the l'oreal pro matte primer, before either applying a thin layer of my fave foundation, or just spot conceal or use a bb cream and it looks fab) I just hope it has the same effect spf wise using it before my moisturizer (it's a thin gel not a thick heavy cream), rather than applying it last which I read is the best way to reap the benefits of a facial SOF cream). Thanks guys!

Weird formulation, pills on the skin
I wanted to like this sunscreen, but it just has a strange consistency. It is “matte” compared to other Hawaiian tropic sunscreens, but it doesn’t rub in easily or smoothly. Also, as someone else mentioned it pills on the skin even at the first application (all bets are off for smooth reapplication of sunscreen). There were chunks of white in my hairline and randomly on my body where it was applied. I assume it’s because of the formulation. It was a strong “meh” from me. I’ll use it if I run out of my other sunscreen, but I wouldn’t buy it again. Definitely has a white cast.

Expires in 5 months?!
Beware if you’re purchasing this for a steal—it’s because they are getting rid of nearly expired product. I wish they would say so in the description, as now I have three bottles to use within five months.Complaint against the seller/mfr aside for this lack of transparency, the scent is lovely and the consistency is perfect. I’ll purchase again but not from Amazon and certainly not without looking at the expiration date!
