Strong fingerwork and a keen ear for voice-leading characterise Hong's Brahms. --GramophonePianist Alpin Hong certainly has plenty of facility to spare... an exciting and intelligent performance, well worth seeking out. Hong invests the Debussy with all the colors the piano can produce. A warmly expressive artist. --American Record GuideA pianistic firebrand, unfazed by the difficulties of new music. --Allan Kozinn

Awesome last track!
I haven't listened to the CD in its entirety yet, but I have to say the last track was such an unexpected and awesome one. I had just finished listening to Rhapsody in Blue (which is great, by the way...really neat to hear it arranged for piano--and played so impressively!) when the last track came on. I started thinking it sounded familiar, then I thought, 'Wait, is this the theme from Zelda?'. After starting to be pretty sure of myself, he segued into the unmistakable Super Mario Bros. theme and I was blown away to hear these two classics from my childhood on a classical CD. Nice work, Alpin!

All tracks are beautifully performed by Alpin and beautifully recorded. On the wings of song is top notch and very emotional. Well worth the purchase of this CD.
