Product description NEW Combo BLUWAVS CD and FLAC FILE .com Camper Van Beethoven's first record with bona fide crossover appeal, 1989's Key Lime Pie (Virgin), brought the celebrated indie band into the, ahem, lime light. Not surprising since Key Lime Pie joined David Lowery's playful, ironic songwriting, Morgan Fichter's soaring violin, and Dennis Henderson's artful production. While the percussive cover "Pictures of Matchstick Men" and the chugging "Jack Ruby" have historically gotten the most attention on this record, Camper Van Beethoven gems like "(I Was Born in a) Laundromat" and "All Her Favorite Fruit" should not be overlooked. A classic. --Nick Heil

More Cracker than Camper
Production quality and packaging is outstanding. This is more of a Cracker-style work vs. classic CVB. I would say if you are a Cracker fan you will love it. If you are seeking the stranger, more psychedelic side of Camper go with one of their earlier releases.

Incredible album now sounds as nature intended.Programming note: I've always preferred switching "Jack Ruby" and "Pictures of Matchstick Men" in the song order, letting the relatively simple psychedelic "hit single" lead off the album and saving the rhythmically and lyrically dense track as the climax. Makes more sense as an album to me, though ymmv.

another college-era favorite
Cracker may've sucked by Camper were great. "Jack Ruby" is especially great. And "I was Born in a Laundromat" is a searing, angry (got that sounded bad-- I sound like a mediocre rock critic) story of a white-trash upbringing that just seethes. You can't go wrong for a couple of bucks. It's a keeper.

I never liked this album...
I admit it...never did. Camper's most commercially succesful album and maybe I resented that about it. Having given it another try, I love it. 'Sweethearts' has to be one of my all-time favorites now.

Great repackaging of a great album by a great band
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Stands the test of time and repeated listenings. And the good news is that the bonus tracks on this edition are actually worth buying it again for. Long live Camper Van Beethoven!

もしかしたらR.E.M.
