Great tool for wood splitting
I heat my home with wood during the winter, so I need many cords of wood split each year. I do all the work by hand without the use of a log splitter. Splitting wedges, this sweet sledge, and my trusty splitting maul. I split about 20 cords of wood this year, which is quite a bit. Most all of the wood I split is 15-30" rounds, almost all of it needing to be split in half with a sledge & wedges. It's all hardwood (oak, etc) - so the BASH sledge gets a lot of very hard use. I've more than put this through its paces, and it's gonna last a lot more years. Handle is in great shape (there aren't many mis-strikes to speak of) - and the head is very firmly on like when it was unpacked new. So, all in all this is a great product and I'd recommend it. Kinda pricey, but I like to buy once cry once. As one last note - this is a 10LB head, but the handle does add some decent heft to it, since it has steel rods in it. So, it will probably weigh more than you think. But hey, I'd rather have a product that lasts the test of time than have to go buy handles every year or so.

Best sledge hammers on the market!
I used to work at a rock quarry, which is a work environment that will quickly crew up and spit out any inferior tool used there. These Wilton BASH sledge hammers were the only hammers we used that would not die. Over strikes are not a problem with the steel handle, the head will not come flying off and hit your buddy thanks to it’s unique head retention system, it’s absorbs shock much better than wood handled sledges and the rubberized handle makes it easy to grip and not slip out of your hands when covered in grease or oil. (Once again, your buddy will thank you for not doing that). Now, as a shop Diesel mechanic, I have invested in Wilton BASH sledge hammers for all of these reasons. Swing em’ as hard as you like. They will not let you down.

BadASS! Built like a tank, feels and looks awesome.
This thing is serious. I have always used old-school sledge hammers (hickory handle, big unfinished misshapen head). This one has an awesome and functional shape - it stands on end easily and has two perfectly symmetrical striking heads. The handle is the best thing since sliced bread, it's rubberized and has especially thick rubber at the top and bottom for gripping and overstrike purposes. I bought it to beat on a tractor tire and train for fire academy, and so far it is a dream to use. LOVE IT. Also my dad is jelly asf because he's still got his old hickory piece.

The best 10 lb sledge hammer there is!
What can I say about this sledge hammer, it's the best one that I've ever used. I purchased this to use in a heavy truck repair shop. I almost cancelled the the order to get the 12 lb sledge and am glad I stayed with the 10 pounder. The handle uses a solid metal core which significantly added to the weight. I put it on the scale at home and it came in at 14 lbs. A bit pricey, but I expect this to virtually last forever. After reading the specs on their web site, I am confident that this will also be one of the safest sledge hammers you can buy. This thing is tough.

Concrete Crusher – But Rubber Face Didn’t Last One Slab
This 10 lb Wilton BASH sledgehammer is built like a tank. I used it to take down a 4-inch thick concrete driveway, and it absolutely delivered. Within a few swings, the concrete was cracking apart. 🟢 Build Quality: The steel core and handle are rock solid. I didn’t feel any flex or looseness even after heavy pounding. 🟢 Ease of Use: Despite being 10 lbs, the balance is perfect. It swings smooth and lands hard without tiring you out too quickly. ⚖️ Weight: Heavy enough to break thick slabs, but still manageable for extended use. 💲 Value for Money: You get serious demolition power for the price. It's a professional-grade tool that makes light work of tough jobs. 🔧 Functionality: It works — just pick it up and swing. No gimmicks. Cracks concrete, breaks rocks, you name it. 📏 Handle Length: The long handle gives excellent leverage. I’m 6' and I didn’t feel like I needed to adjust or reposition. ⚠️ Downside – Rubber Face Came Off Immediately: Here’s the one issue: The rubber cap on the striking face tore up after the very first slab. Now it’s just the steel core hitting concrete. Still works, but there’s no more shock absorption, Its fell of like 4 strikes in could have just been a flaw. If Wilton offered an easy replacement cap for this model, I’d bump it up to 5 stars — no question.
