REVISED REVIEW:Shortly after I wrote the review, I got a call from Jamie at tech support. I explained my issues and she was confident she can fix them. She logged into the system. She told me that the firmware for the unit is out dated. (I bought the system in May of 2018.) After updating the firmware and changing some settings on the NVR and the cameras, the speed and image quality improved dramatically. This process took about ~40mins.On the follow up call, she told me they are working on a way to update the firmware which should fix some of the issues. So the tech support for this company is “unbelievably good”. Hope they can leverage that into their business model. If anyone is having problems with the system, call them at 626-350-0070. So I am revising my review.OLD REVIEW:Not reliable. Comers are of low quality. Image quality is not what the products claim to be. Control settings are difficult to use. Remote playback is slow. System freezes often, have to reboot. I have a fiber line so it is not the bandwidth. Only good things are that the tech support is knowledgeable, prompt, and friendly. Overall, not worth it.

UPDATED REVIEW:Have now managed to get the system up and working with the help of GW support. Firmware on the NVR and cameras needed to be upgraded and the reason for the updated rating is that GW have informed me they have taken steps to ensure all products shipped are at the latest firmware.I have to add, the support I received from both Paul and Jamie - who provided detailed upgrade instructions, was fantastic. Jamie helped me with the camera firmware upgrade and could not have been more proactive or supportive. Thanks to you both..... My faith in GW is restored.OLD REVIEWIn addition to my earlier product review, detailing that the system does not work out of the box [firmware upgrades required which needs cable internet connection - which i don't have], nor are the cameras weatherproof [connector is for internal use only], I have now discovered from GW Security that their 12 month warranty does not apply to systems shipped outside of the US. I really really wish I had never purchased this system.. Very misleading product description. Of course Amazon's response, as always, is to offer a refund rather then try and resolve my problem.... Tre tech support is phenomenal. Good thing cause your going to need it. Once installed and hooked up I had no pictures so called in and they had to update all the firmware. All in all I was on the phone for quite some time but not because they didn’t know what they were doing it just takes awhile for them to update and configure everything properly. The system is very well put togetherOne star rating on the cables. Only 3 out of 8 were 100’ the rest were 50-75. Be prepared to but some extra cable. Not a deal breaker but for the price of this system it was a pain.

We were looking to upgrade our security system at work. Our previous model was a Lorex and required both power and video inputs and the image quality wasn't great. We liked the idea of a power over ethernet system and the higher resolution, so we ordered this system. It arrived as a bunch of components in an Amazon box, not in a manufacturer's box. It gave us the impression that there's a warehouse shelf with various components and they just toss whatever "system" parts match what you ordered into the box before shipping.Before running cables through our building we attempted to hook up the system to verify that it worked. We did NOT receive what is pictured above. We ordered the 8 camera system which as shown has a single box to plug into. There were two boxes. One was the router and one the NVR. We followd the instructions to the letter, but only heard the hard drive click and got no signal from the unit to the TV it was hooked up to. As we were on a timeline to get a new system in place before our busines opened the next day we decided to trust our gut that this was not the system for us. We spent a little more and ended up with a POE camera system with build in audio by Swann from our local Fry's. We were up and running in minutes when we tested the Swann system and it worked great out of the box. We packaged the GW Security system back up and shipped it back to Amazon and were promptly refunded. Maybe it would have been an ok system if the hard drive hadn't arrived damaged, but the packaging and lack of documentation within the package helped us to come to the decision to just return this instead of ordering another. We don't regret that decision one bit after the ease of install of the new Swann system, especially since it came with audio capabilities out of the box and this one does not. BONUS: The Swann cameras fit the same base footprint that our old Lorex system did so there was no need to drill new holes or touch up paint anywhere.

This is a must have camera set! This is the set I've been searching for, & I found it! GW Security! If you're looking for a Master Security Camera Set, GW Security Camera's is the one to bye! It went beyound my expectations! The clearnest off the camera is so clear! Get one & you'll see what I'm talking about! Great system, no problem installing except for me dropping one of the cameras. I called customer service and got Jamie and I must say she was a joy. Told me no problem they would repair or replace the camera. Got it back in a quite fast. I'm very happy with the system and the service.

Bought the system for my house, allready have it for my bussiness. Haooy with th product, only thing is the Power adapter was missing....
