Works perfectly in Synology DS1819+
I decided to upgrade my Synology to a model that supports 10GbE SFP+. Unfortunately none of Synology's smaller 4 or 5 bay NAS can be upgraded to support 10GbE so if you want to connect with Fibre SFP+ modules then the 6 bay DS1618+ or 8 bay DS1819+ seem to be the cheapest options at the moment. At least there's capacity for adding more drives in the future!I read in several places that quite a lot of 10GbE NICs are supported in these devices but Synology themselves only seem to support their branded accessories for their devices (i.e. this definitely applies to RAM modules!). I decided that, although much more expensive than a regular Intel or Broadcom NIC, that the Synology branded one is the least likely to give me any problems with compatibility and support.Installation of the card was really easy and was simply a case of removing the NAS chassis and installing the card into the single PCI Express 8x slot.I've installed 2x 10Gtek 10GbE SFP+ SR transceivers in the card and they are working perfectly. After powering up the NAS the dual 10GbE NICs were detected as LAN 5 and LAN 6 without any need to install any drivers or additional packages. I created an 802.3ad bond with both NICs and this had no problem working with a Mikrotik CRS309 10GbE switch configured the same.Performance-wise I 'm really impressed with this NIC and it totally destroys a 1GbE connection. The bottleneck has now moved to my disks and array which will probably be improved by adding more disks at a later date. Some benchmarks and cached reads seem to be able to easily max out a single 10GbE NIC which is really impressive.Pros:- Genuine Synology product- Excellent performance- Dual port which supports teaming and adds redundancy- 5 year warrantyCons:- More expensive than other NICs

It does what it's supposed to do
Plugged it in ... it just works. It's a bit finicky to get it seated correctly. While I gave it 5 stars for functionality, Synology pricing knocks one off

Worth the upgrade
Works perfectly. This is a quality and genuine product that is worth every penny.

Able to achieve sustained transfer rates on my network between 600-800MB/sec
Works well. Obviously big files is where it's fast. Thousands of small files will be slower.

Very fast speed, no overheat issue
Bought it along with DS1618+.
