It’s perfect for what I need it for which is casting into ponds and snagging duck is shoot that my dog can’t or won’t get to “he’s still a pup” I’m mildly afraid of breaking it though, seems pretty cheap.

The 5-star rating is “for the price.” It could definitely be better, but for the low $$ I think it’s a good value. I ordered the 3-foot version. In retrospect, I should have gotten a longer one. However, it has performed quite well. While float fishing for panfish, I hooked into a small (maybe 2-3 pounds?) carp. Considering how thin and light this rod is, I would think a carp that size would snap the tip. However, I was able to fight and eventually land the fish. I was impressed...and honestly, fighting a fish like that on this puny thing was a lot of fun!

It's super little so it took us a few minutes to figure it out but we were super impressed with the convenience of it. It's not very durable it seems I was afraid to handle it to much because of its lack of thickness and it's unlikely he'll be able to catch anything worthwhile but I dont know yet we didn't realize the reel wasn't included. Totally on us because after looking more closely it says it isnt included

Very light weight but strong. Cast weight feels like a full size medium heavy rod.Got the short one, and it appears to function very well in local ponds/creeks.The reel lock is quite ingenious as well. Holds the reel very securely. Great rod for all ages.A very good buy.
